Información General: Grupo de Investigacion y Desarrollo de la Vivienda con Madera (GIDEVIM) Universidad de Los Andes The Gidevim was recognized by the CDCHT in the year 2000, with the objective to promote the conservation of the natural woodlands and plant life during the utilization of natural products to construct modern homes, conveniently and economically viable, as well as to contribute to the great problem of Venezuelan housing. In the end we come to a multidisciplinary investigation which permits us to directly apply a university extension project during the construction of houses and technological subdivision of houses for the general public. Lines of Research: - Industrial production of wood houses, - Mechanized sawing and carving, - Drying the carved wood, - Commerce and marketing of forest products.
