| dc.description.abstract | En el presente trabajo se analizan las prestaciones que proporciona el
Sistema de Seguridad Social a los adultos mayores en Venezuela, partiendo
del seguro social, principal instrumento de dicho sistema, hasta llegar a los
programas excepcionales y temporales que se han implementado desde
2006 hasta 2011, incluyendo el más reciente denominado Gran Misión
En Amor Mayor Venezuela, contrastando esa protección con la prevista
en la Ley Orgánica del Sistema de Seguridad Social (LOSSS) y en la
Ley de Servicios Sociales. Se trata de una investigación documental en la
que se manejan los instrumentos legales vigentes, así como ciertos datos
estadísticos, para concluir que la protección con que cuentan los adultos
mayores es insuficiente, siendo imperioso culminar el proceso de reforma
del Sistema de Seguridad Social, para lo cual la Asamblea Nacional debe
dictar entre otras normas la Ley del Régimen Prestacional de Salud y la Ley
del Régimen Prestacional de Pensiones y Otras Asignaciones Económicas. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | This work analyzes the benefits offered to the elderly by the Social
Security System in Venezuela, from social security, the main instrument
of said system, to the exceptional and temporary programs implemented
from 2006 to 2011, including the most recent, titled the Great Venezuelan Mission for Love of the Elderly (Gran Misión En Amor Mayor Venezuela),
contrasting this protection with what is foreseen in the Organic Law for
the Social Security System (LOSSS) and the Law for Social Services. The
research is documentary, using current legal documents as well as certain
statistical data, and concludes that the protection for the elderly is not
enough, completing the Social Security System reform process is a vital
necessity. To accomplish this, the National Assembly should approve the
Law for the Regimen of Health Benefits and the Law for the Regimen of
