| dc.description.abstract | Actualmente consideramos que el grado de aculturación y transculturación entre los yu'pas no se da de manera homogénea entre toda la población que integra el grupo étnico, existiendo marcadas diferencias entre aquellos que se encuentran en los lugares más remotos de la Sierra de Perijá y aquellos que se sitúan en la zona de mayor contacto con poblaciones criollas y con los misioneros. Con ese motivo se presenta sintéticamente a continuación la incidencia que sobre la sociedad y la cultura Yu'pa tienen tres agentes de cambio como son: la política gubernamental y las multinacionales, la acción misionera, y la sociedad rural venezolana. Posteriormente se hace una referencia a la imaginación y creatividad social que los yu'pas poseen para hacer frente a sus problemas. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | It is now believed that the degree ofacculturation among the Yu'pa is not uniform in the entire population making up this ethnic group, there beingmarked differences between those found in the most remote reaches of the Perijá mountains and those living in the area where there is greater contact with the creole population and with missionaries.
With that in mind, the influence of three agents of change is presented briefly below. Those agents are govemmental policy and multinational corporations, missionary activity and rural Venezuelan society.
