| dc.description.abstract | En el presente artículo se expone un análisis de lo que ha sido la música
rock hecha en Venezuela desde principios de la década de los sesenta hasta
la actualidad. Se hace una división en fases o etapas donde se establecen los
orígenes y primeros pasos, transición y psicodelia e identidad, así como las
diferentes propuestas que han aparecido desde la década de los setenta en
adelante: rock con sonidos latinos, jazz-rock, el sonido sinfónico-progresivo,
hard rock y heavy metal, subgéneros del metal, reggae, ska y lo alternativo.
De esta manera, se reconoce el legado discográfico de bandas y solistas
resaltando los principales artistas y sus obras. Por último, se tratan los aspectos
relacionados con la música rock como medio de denuncia social y política y la
evolución que ha tomado la música rock en el país en los últimos años, desde
la influencia y presión de las compañías discográficas hasta las producciones
independientes, así como la actitud del público hacia los intérpretes de este

| dc.description.abstract1 | This article presents an analysis of rock music that has been made in Venezuela
since the early sixties until today. A division is carried out in phases or stages
where the origins and first steps are established, the transition and psychedelia
and identity, as well as the different proposals that have appeared from the
seventies onwards: rock with latin sounds, jazz-rock, symphonic-progressive
sound, hard rock and heavy metal, sub-generes of metal, reggae, ska and the
alternative. In this way, the record legacy of bands and soloists is recognized,
highlighting the main artists and their works. Finally, aspects related to rock
music are discussed as a means of social and political denunciation and the
evolution that rock music has had in the country in recent years, from the
influence and pressure of record companies to independent productions, as
