| dc.description.abstract | La citología por biopsia por punción-aspiración con aguja fina (BPAF) forma parte de la triada de
diagnóstico en la evaluación de la patología mamaria, junto con la clínica y la mamografía. El
sistema internacional Yokohama ha sido propuesto para informar los hallazgos de la BPAF mamaria de
forma estandarizada, mediante cinco categorías de diagnóstico: Inadecuada/insuficiente, Benigna,
Atípica, Sospechosa para malignidad y Maligna, para una mejor comunicación entre el clínico y el
citólogo. El objetivo de este artículo fue presentar un resumen del sistema internacional Yokohama
para informar los hallazgos en la citología mamaria, a fin de que el personal involucrado se
familiarice con éste, para su futura implementación en esta región. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | Fine needle aspiration biopsy cytology (FNAB) is part of the diagnostic triad in the evaluation of
breast pathology, along with clinical signs and mammography. The Yokohama international system has
been proposed to report
standardized breast (FNAB), through 5 diagnostic categories: Inadequate/insufficient, benign,
atypical, suspicious for malignancy, and malignant, for better communication between the clinician
and the cytologist. The objective of this article was to present a summary of the Yokohama
international system for reporting findings in breast cytology, in order to familiarize the
