dc.description.abstractLos grandes cambios suscitados en el mundo a partir de la década de 1930 dieron pie al surgimiento de una nueva vertiente historiográfica: la historia del tiempo presente. Este ensayo aborda el nacimiento de esta perspectiva, los problemas epistemológicos y metodológicos que enfrentó, los diferentes nombres que ha recibido y las distintas caracterizaciones que se han hecho sobre ella. Se discuten algunas de las ideas vertidas por sus principales teóricos y se realiza un breve relato de su desarrollo en Europa, el Cono Sur, Brasil y en México. En el caso de este último país se presentan las principales periodizaciones de la historia del siglo XX y se contrasta a la historia del tiempo presente con la historia contemporánea.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The great changes that occurred in the world since 1930s gave rise to the emergence of a new historiographical perspective: the history of the present time. This essay addresses the birth of this perspective, the epistemological and methodological problems it faced, the different names it had received, and the different characterizations that have been made of it. This paper discusses some of the ideas expressed by its main theorists and makes a brief account of their development in Europe, the Southern American Cone, Brazil and Mexico. In the case of latter country, the main periods of the history are presented, and the history of the present time approach is contrasted with that of contemporary history.es_VE
