Résumé
La demanda global de alimentos estimula el aumento de la producción agro-ganadera para garantizar la disponibilidad alimentaria pero, a la vez, plantea desafíos en cuanto a la modificación de los sistemas productivos y su impacto ambiental. Existen claras evidencias que la ganadería
contribuye de forma importante, directa e indirectamente con la generación de Gases de Efecto Invernadero (GEI) influyendo en el cambio climático de origen antropogénico y este a su vez con el calentamiento global. Su influencia reciproca afecta la producción de alimentos y sus efectos variaran en función del sistema productivo; la necesidad de mitigarlos obliga a implementar prácticas agrícolas de desarrollo sustentable. El
objetivo de esta revisión es describir el escenario actual de los impactos que producen los sistemas de producción animal por la generación de GEI y la necesidad de mitigarlos implementando sistemas productivos bajo un esquema de desarrollo sustentable.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | The global demand for food stimulates increased agro-livestock production to ensure food availability, but at the same time, it poses challenges to the modification of production systems and their environmental impact. There is clear evidence that livestock contributes significantly, directly and indirectly to the generation of greenhouse gases (GHG) influencing anthropogenic climate change and this in turn to global warming. Their mutual influence affects food production and their effects will vary depending on the production system; the need to mitigate them requires implementing agricultural sustainable development practices. The objective of this review is to describe the current scenario of the impacts that animal production systems bring for the generation of greenhouse gases and the need to mitigate by implementing productive systems under a scheme of sustainable development. |
