Resumo
Con ocasión del centenario de Kafka, me propongo hacer una lectura de La metamorfosis
(1915) partiendo del análisis de un elemento decorativo que aparece en la historia: el
cuadro de la mujer del manguito, expuesto en la habitación de Gregorio Samsa. Esta
interpretación se fundamenta en la tesis de Benedict Anderson sobre las comunidades
imaginadas y pretende identificar cómo en el texto literario se configuran dos
comunidades distintas, identificadas con la práctica de leer periódicos y con la
práctica de
leer revistas. Ello con el fin de mostrar cómo la lectura ociosa de revistas
interfiere y
desconfigura el régimen de lo “normal” instaurado por el periódico.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | On the occasion of Kafka's centenary, I propose a reading of The Metamorphosis (1915) based on the semiotic analysis of a decorative element that appears in the story: the print of the lady in the muff, displayed in Gregor Samsa's room. This interpretation is grounded in Benedict Anderson's thesis on imagined communities and aims to identify how the literary text configures two distinct communities, associated with the practice of reading newspapers and the practice of reading magazines. This is to show how the leisurely reading of magazines and the clipping of the lady in the muff partially interfere with and disrupt the regime of "normalcy" established by the newspaper. |
