| dc.description.abstract | En este artículo se enfatiza la dignidad de la persona en la
auténtica educación. Aunque algunas concepciones pedagógicas se hayan
centrado más en la esencia y otras en la existencia de la persona; considero
que se han de conciliar ambos aspectos. Desde esta perspectiva, tras
repasar algunas cuestiones fi losófi cas, el texto se adentra en cuestiones
pedagógicas de nuestro tiempo y hace hincapié en el carácter humanizador/
personalizador de la educación. Se describen también algunas de las
dimensiones esenciales de la educación y diversas propiedades de la
persona con alto valor pedagógico, se insiste en que la personalización
es superación de la individualización y de la socialización, y se concluye
recordando el compromiso de toda pedagogía con la mejora personal, la

| dc.description.abstract1 | During the last decade the Venezuelan education has been
a subject of interest and several investigations in the philosophical,
psychological and pedagogical fundaments to serve as the curriculum
of different educational levels. Despite the changes that have been
done, there are still problems regarding the performance of students as
autonomous users of writing´s culture. Such weaknesses are uncovered
in the results of recent studies in the country. The problem is not only
limited to the Venezuelan reality because it reaches global dimensions.
This article is interested in addressing issues related to conceptions about reading, writing, the role that the school plays, and changes deemed
necessary in the teaching of language and therefore the levels of student
