Abstract
Los cambios paradigmáticos que introduce la sociedad del conocimiento, promueven la adopción del modelo educativo basado en competencias. El objetivo del artículo es disertar sobre la formación en competencias del docente universitario. La metodología se fundamenta en la revisión de literatura especializada sobre la formación docente, las competencias y la docencia universitaria. Las conclusiones de la indagación demuestran el cambio de perspectiva que debe tener el docente universitario para mejorar el desempeño de las funciones básicas de docencia, investigación y extensión.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | The paradigmatic changes introduced by the society of knowledge promote the adoption of a new educative model based on competences. The purpose of this article is to speak about the training on the competences the new university professor has. The methodology is based on the revision of the specialized literature about the professor training, the competences and the university teaching. The conclusions obtained by the inquiry demonstrate the change of perspective that the university professor must have in order to improve the performance of the basic functions of teaching, research and extension. |
